DESCRIBE THE PROJECT.
The homeowners of this project are longtime
clients and dear friends. We have collaborated
on many projects including second homes in
Washington, D.C. and Denver.
Though every room in the house was
touched, the kitchen/family room remodel was
the most impactful. The formal dining room wall
was removed, enlarging the kitchen to include a
welcoming, well-stocked bar and casual dining
area. The breakfast nook was turned into
a baking station with its own sink, dishwasher
and ovens. Windows were relocated or removed
completely to allow the kitchen to be
centered around a simple hood and dramatic
book-matched stone wall. The island includes a
raised bar and a social corner sink—which allows
two cooks to prep together, thus the name. The
kitchen is the soul and gathering place of our
homes, and this kitchen is all about gathering.

Just like this featured project, we work with all our clients to create interiors that are sophisticated, unexpected, personal and timeless. Inspiration comes from clients’ personalities, dreams and comfort as well as from the architecture of the buildings themselves. We like to work with natural materials and modern, iconic and often vintage elements, furniture and art. Each project has its own unique feel but is similar in attention to detail and understated luxury. Kitchens and bathrooms are one of our specialties; we design them with the client’s practical use and aesthetic pleasure in mind. We have great relationships with architects, builders and contractors.
TELL US ABOUT THE PROJECTS YOU ARE WORKING ON.
Currently we are working on an apartment in New York City, a large condo on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, two kitchens, and homes in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Palos Verdes. We have a major remodel in Palm Springs in the planning stages. All but two of these projects are for clients we have worked with many times over the years.

It’s important to note that furniture is sometimes
as collectible as art. When you buy a Knoll
piece or a Hanz J. Wegner piece—new or vintage—
they become part of what you pass down
to the next generation. They are investments as
well as items that give you pleasure to live with
daily. Fine furniture is timeless. Art is timeless.
